WERTHOLZ Group – Key facts

WERTHOLZ Holding GmbH is the holding company of a group of companies and real estates belonging to the WERTHOLZ Group, and is owned by the Welz family. Its subsidiaries include WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH, WH Danubius s.r.o. in Slovakia and dotparc Informationstechnologie GmbH.

WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH currently has 25 employees, and achieves annual sales of around €13 million. The company supplies customers in the cellulose, paper and chipboard industry located in Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Bosnia. Additionally, WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH is active in the procurement markets Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

WH Danubius s.r.o. owns 4,500 hectares of agricultural land and forests in Slovakia, managed by seven employees. The company achieved annual sales of around €1.3 million.

dotparc Informationstechnologie GmbH is a software and IT management company that offers its services to companies of the WERTHOLZ Group and external customers.

 

WERTHOLZ Group – Milestones

1989 Die Werner Welz founds WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH. Due to Werner Welz’s long-standing experience and market relations, the company is active across Europe right from the start.
1993 WERTHOLZ Group continues to expand, and underlines its pioneering role in the East European market by founding WH Danubius s.r.o.
1995 Due to growth in sales, WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH opens a new company location at the ÖBB trans-shipment terminal in Fürnitz, thus benefiting from excellent transport links.
1997 WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH opens a modern roundwood sorting plant at the Fürnitz location.
1998 WERTHOLZ Holding GmbH is founded.
1999 WH Danubius s.r.o. leases and farms its first forest areas in Slovakia.
2004 WH Danubius s.r.o. buys 1,500 hectares of forest area in Slovakia.
2005 WERTHOLZ Österreich Holzhandels GmbH invests in modernising and raising machinery capacity at the Fürnitz location.
2006 WH Danubius s.r.o. buys 3,000 hectares of farming and forest areas in Slovakia.
